Community Guidelines

Let’s keep things chill, but not too chaotic. Here’s the guidelines…

Don’t Be a Jerk

  • Seriously, just be cool. Treat everyone with respect, even when you disagree. No personal attacks, harassment, or derogatory language.
  • Inclusive Language: Use inclusive language that avoids discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or other personal attributes.
  • Think before you type. Is it helpful? Is it funny (in a good way)? If not, maybe hit delete.
  • No spam. Please. We all hate spam. Avoid excessive self-promotion or unsolicited advertising. If you have something relevant to share, ask for permission or contribute meaningfully first.

Keep it (Mostly) On Topic

  • We get it, tangents happen. But try to stick to the general vibe of the channel.
  • If you have a random thought, there is an #offtopic channel. Constructive criticism is cool. Trolling is not.

Play Nice Kids

  • Ask questions, share your brilliance (and your fails – we learn from those too).
  • Use threads! It’s like organizing your sock drawer, but for conversations.
  • No Not Safe For Work content.

Mods Are (Mostly) Your Friends

  • We’re here to keep the peace, not ruin your day. But we will if you break the rules.
  • See something sketchy? Let us know.
  • Rules might change because, well, life changes.

Slack Stuff

  • Fill out your profile. It makes you look less like a bot.
  • Introduce yourself! We’re not mind readers.
  • Search is your friend. Use it.
